Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website at clearhorizon.io (the "Site") and the in-home technology support services provided by Clear Horizon Home IT Support, LLC ("Clear Horizon," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site or booking our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
Clear Horizon Home IT Support, LLC is a Utah limited liability company providing in-home technology support to households in the Greater Salt Lake Area. Contact: hello@clearhorizon.io / (385) 200-1669.
2. Our services
We provide consumer-facing technology support, which may include help with Wi-Fi and networking, phones, laptops, tablets and accessories, password and account recovery, smart-home devices, and software and security cleanup. The specific work to be performed for you will be discussed and confirmed before the visit.
3. Booking, scheduling, and cancellations
- Submitting a request through the Site is an inquiry, not a binding appointment. Your appointment is confirmed when we agree on a specific date and time in writing (email or text).
- If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as soon as you can. We reserve the right to charge a reasonable cancellation fee for appointments cancelled with very short notice or for no-shows, when disclosed to you in advance.
- We may need to reschedule for reasons outside our control (weather, illness, emergencies); when we do, we'll work with you to find a new time.
4. Pricing and payment
- Pricing for a given engagement will be discussed with you before work begins. We will not perform paid work without your authorization.
- Unless we agree otherwise in writing, payment is due upon completion of the visit.
- If you dispute a charge, contact us first — we'd rather resolve the issue directly than through your payment provider.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree that:
- You either own the devices, accounts, and network we are asked to work on, or you have authority to authorize the work.
- You will provide us with the access we reasonably need to perform the service — including passwords, physical access to the device, or remote access where appropriate.
- You are responsible for backing up your data before our visit. While we treat your data with care, we can't always anticipate hardware failures or software issues that may surface during repair work.
- You will not ask us to perform any task that is illegal, that violates someone else's rights, or that violates the terms of service of a third-party platform or service.
6. Authorization to access devices and accounts
When you book a visit, you authorize us to access the devices, accounts, and networks needed to complete the work you've requested, for the limited purpose of completing that work. We do not retain credentials, copy your data, or access accounts beyond what's necessary. See our Privacy Policy for more on how we treat your information.
7. Warranties and disclaimers
We aim to provide competent, careful service. However, the Site and our services are provided "as is", without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
We do not control third-party hardware, software, services, or networks, and we make no warranty regarding their performance.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clear Horizon will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — including loss of data, lost profits, or loss of use — arising out of or related to the Site or our services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Site or a particular engagement is limited to the amount you paid us for that engagement.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for our gross negligence or willful misconduct).
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Clear Horizon harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your direction to us to perform work on devices, accounts, or networks you did not have authority to authorize.
10. Intellectual property
The Site, including its text, images, logos, and code, is owned by Clear Horizon or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may view the Site for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy, reproduce, or distribute its content without permission.
11. Acceptable use of the Site
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its underlying systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site, including by sending automated traffic or attempting to overload it
- Submit false, misleading, or harassing information through the Site's forms
12. Termination
We may decline service, cancel an appointment, or stop work in progress if we reasonably believe the work would be unsafe, illegal, or in violation of these Terms. We will refund any unearned amounts you have paid us in that case.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site or our services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or our services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Before filing any formal claim, we ask that you contact us first to try to resolve the issue informally — most disputes can be sorted out with a phone call or email.
